Apple canceled body temperature measurement for Apple Watch 7 because the algorithm failed to qualify before entering EVT stage last year. I believe Apple Watch 8 in 2H22 could take body temperature if the algorithm can meet Apple's high requirements before mass production.

Kuo says that Apple was supposed to include body temperature sensors with the Series 7 Watch, which didn’t go well as the algorithms went wrong and didn’t meet Apple’s high requirements.

High requirements do mean great accuracy, as Apple wants to deliver the best experience to the customers. As our body temperature is not constant and can shift hugely, which can be a bit problem for the sensors to identify…

Let’s hope that Apple fixes the issues and the algorithm fits well and we get the body temperature sensing in the 2022 Apple watch…
