According to SamMobile, Samsung is reportedly pushing to secure a position in Apple’s supply chain for the M2 processor, similar to how Samsung helped Apple get the M1’s production off the ground back in 2020. Apple’s new chipset powers the iPads and Macs, so there are a lot of M1 chips out there. Now, that Apple is developing the M2 chip, Samsung wants to be a part of the action.
Apple will introduce the M2 processor in the upcoming months which does mean that the deal might get cracked soon. The new M2 processor will be powering the iPad and the Mac devices, and just like last year there’ll be more than two processors in the M2 series, with Pro, Pro Max, and Ultra Pro Max, still this seems better naming for the processors…
Now the launch date is still not yet announced or leaked, but there’s a strong sense that it might launch at the WWDC in sept. 2022, so stay tuned in for that…
